KBDi is calling upon passionate members to help shape the future of kitchen and bathroom design in Australia by joining their Board.

As a KBDi Board Member, you’ll play a pivotal role in steering the industry to new heights.

Let’s delve into the details.

Our Vision

KBDi aims to elevate the collective good of kitchen and bathroom designers through advocacy, education, and enriched connection. Our vision is to solidify our position as Australia’s peak professional association for the industry. By fostering a strong and engaged community, KBDi strives to be more than just a voice—we aim to be a driving force that shapes the modern landscape of kitchen and bathroom design, redefining the standards of excellence.

Board Member Characteristics

As a Board member, you set the tone for the association, and your integrity must be above reproach. If you relate to the following statements, you’ll hold some of the attributes we’re looking for:

  • You’re a team player with a demonstrated capacity to show initiative and represent KBDi professionally and ethically.
  • You’ll willingly share your expertise and knowledge with the Board and KBDi Management as appropriate to the betterment of the association.
  • You will demonstrate well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, reflecting a caring, tolerant and open approach to people and their differing perspectives.
  • You are passionate about design, specifically kitchens, bathrooms and interiors.
  • You are passionate about growing and improving the resourcefulness and longevity of KBDi.

Board Member Responsibilities

As a non-executive Director, you’ll be required to:

  • hold a current KBDi Designer Membership
  • accept the Director’s responsibilities as set out by ASIC
  • review documents in preparation for informed discussions at Board Meetings
  • attend Board meetings (approximately 2-3 hours, around six times a year, mainly via Zoom)
  • contribute to Board sub-committees as required
  • contribute to discussions about the long-term strategy and direction of the association

Your Value to the Board

You’ll add value to the KBDi Board by:

  • assisting in the appointment, encouragement, and assessment of the management team
  • providing an external, alternative perspective to support management decisions
  • leveraging your position in the design industry to engage current and future industry partners
  • representing member interests
  • bringing relevant competency, industry experience, legitimacy, and ethical behaviour to the table
  • ensuring proper corporate governance processes with integrity

Catalyst for Change

In joining the KBDi Board, you’ll be integral to decision making related to overall strategy, budgets, and significant financial matters. Your contribution will help shape the future of kitchen and bathroom design in Australia.
